When we find Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we are in a Personal One-To-One Relationship with Him and He is the One who Governs Our Life – if we are yielded to Him of-course. That’s the difference between Accepting Him as Your LORD and SAVIOR……not just Your Savior.
This Article deals with Busy-Bodies in the Church………”God’s Little Helpers”……..at least they think they are:)
Yet a Christian or even someone in Ministry can find a Fault with You or even think in their “Minds” they Perceive “Something Lacking” in Your Walk with Jesus and maybe even get quite Vocal about it.
Sometimes it is them who have a problem – not you so much, because in ignorance (not always) They think they can do “The Lord’s Work” for Him. They can speak out of time maybe, when He already has a Matter in Hand.
If they are not Careful, they can even blunder something You are Jesus are going quite fine with and you are making progress with, in their attempt to Fix a Problem Jesus has not Finished with yet, or speak impetuously Words that are not Appropriate for you.
In other Words, People can Mess You Up when they say the Wrong Thing. Do you read me? Maybe that has been You at sometime or sometimes.
You can disregard things they told you and feel alright about doing just that because quite often “God’s Little Helpers” can be Busy-Bodies aka Oh they are just “doing God’s Work” they think. “Sure, they just got in His Way” and maybe even Hindered a Delicate Process “between You and Jesus”
Their “Intervention” wasn’t needed. Maybe it’s something they’re Fussy about. Jesus has Patience but they have not. Wonderful “Creatures” People are sometimes, they really have to handle someone else’s Affairs better than they do their own. Hey?
Some do have that “Special Gift” (if you can call it that:) Like “Help, I see that Person Coming in my direction!” Yes please DO Avoid. Give them a quick closed greeting and Avoid Conversation.
You have Jesus’ Permission to do that – you don’t have to “Stay on the Spot” showing Good Manners and possibly wearing damages afterwards because these “Nit Pickers” like to feel they have done their Quota sometimes. If it wasn’t with You, it would be with someone else, who takes the punishment of listening to these people so to speak. Maybe they’re in a better position to show Patience with them aka it will go through their ear and out the other. They have a good Self-Esteem and don’t take them too seriously.
Good. However maybe You are not like that. Let them “do the rounds” while You stay with those who “Encourage You” in Conversation.
After-All, that’s meant to be the Main thing we do when We Get Together with Chrisians isn’t it? ENCOURAGE One Another ALL the MORE as you see His Coming” that’s actually meant to be the Main Focus of Fellowship, that Verse is Saying” Yes, to Encourage rather than Deflate those we’re Fellowshipping with. Get the Picture?
3 Tips to those who feel Compulsions to Help Others,
thinking you ARE doing The Lord’s Work:
1. Make sure your Input is Welcome by the Person you’re Speaking to. Even the Holy Spirit is a “Gentleman” He never Speaks where Words are not wanted. Are you Greater than Jesus or Better than the Holy Spirit?
2. Do you find yourself Correcting People more often than you Encourage them? If the answer is Yes, You are definitely Out of Order.
Christians often have enough of the Devil pointing out their Flaws without out You adding to the problem. Sorry to say this: make sure you’re not his Little Helper.
3. Have you ever considered having plenty of Good Things to tell people? Maybe you chose the wrong Vocation? Besides, that particular “Ministry or Gifting is Nowhere to be found in the New Testament. Sorry. But there is a Mention about Gossips AND Busybodies, that WE ALL should Refrain from such Practices because they are Not Edifying. “Let ALL (in Fellowship) be done for Edifying Each-Other” so Nit-Picking is Out. OK?
Maybe Self Control is what you need to Aspire to. If you can be Serious about that, the Holy Spirit can Help You – He’s Good at that and will not Upbraid You like I have in this Article.
That is because many Christians are damaged by this kind of thing, and many have LEFT because they are Made to Feel SO Uncomfortable. Clearly, that is not Jesus’ Wishes to see His Kids Leaving. I think maybe You and others like you have “A Problem” that is not Healthy for You OR those you Offend. Take Care, for Yourself AND Others – You need to Work on that before you Help anyone.
So the Gift of Nit-Picking is OUT like Gossip and Backbiting. OK?
One Rule of Thumb here……NOTHING that is Found to Be Offensive
Is Welcome in a Good Healthy Fellowship – ALL Members should find it Offensive, as does the Holy Spirit – He is grieved by such things. Seek His Counsel about this. It is Important that You Do.
Could it be that you are reading this and see that you have been engaged in Nit-Picking OR Busy-Body behavior? I suggest two things: firstly, make sure to be working with the Holy Spirit on where You could do with some Improving and Starve that tendency to see faults in Others. Jesus is BOTH Their Lord and Your Lord. And secondly, keep yourself Active with some Hobby OR Daily Walks to occupy Your Mind with Healthy Interests – this will Help You because you will have Less Idle Time to think Unhealthy Thoughts. It would be good for you to start thinking All the Good Things You Can about Others and See the Good in Them.
To the rest of You I Say: Never Lend Your Trust to a Person you don’t know much – even if they are a Christian. And there are some things you are better Not Sharing with Anyone. Ask the Holy Spirit for Wisdom concerning which things you are better keeping between Him and You. Jesus gave Him to Us as a Counsellor and a Comforter. He is Good at Both.
