As Costi Hinn said in his testimony. “There are two things that keep people in these positions in the charismatic church…money and power”. The positions that Kris Valloton and Bill Johnson are in are simply too hard to let go of.

Steve, you were the number one voice that helped me during my heart-wrenching, deeply painful nar departure 8 years ago. The amount of thanks I owe to you is immeasurable. I wish you could get the credit you deserve for shining the light on this so many years ago. But I believe God will reward you in due time, even if we have to wait for the age to come.
I remember both Bill and Beni’s response to the Todd Bentley situation – they were so publicly angry that anyone was calling for accountability. It was very telling.
As much as the foulness of these people disturbs me the cackling of their audience is more unsettling.

Wow! This explains so much. Whenever I challenge people on doctrine at Bethel, they always ask me, but have you been there? They learned that from Bill. That is part of their script. Then they usually shut down at this point. I usually ask why would I want to go when they are deviating from scripture or promoting a false translation. They pretty much ignore me once I say I have no desire to go based on their deviation of scripture.
Mormons have been taught to use a similar tactic: “But have you read The Book of Mormon?” and “Have you prayed and asked God if it’s true?” It’s a thought-stopping method used to suppress or prevent critical thinking, doubts, and negative thoughts about the group.
Doesn’t work on me. I answered yes…. And when looking at scripture, I can’t help but conclude they preach another Jesus than the Bible teaches. The conversation ended pretty quickly from there lol!

All those buffoons on stage who think Todd Bentley was a good choice to portray a good church pastor are truly dim-witted. Something’s not right in their heads. We’re talking about a leader like Bill Johnson who allows an adulterer like Todd Bentley to be a pastor when the Bible says a pastor must be married to one wife and blameless. But apparently, that verse doesn’t exist in their Bible; they’ve crossed it out. And what surprises me is that many people who attend their services haven’t stood up to point out that Todd Bentley should be disqualified. It’s as if no one reads their Bible. It’s crazy!
Also, people think that Bethel is the kingpin in all of this, but all of these guys came out of the Toronto Blessing… ALL of them have their origin stories there.
I warn my Christian friends and they ignore me and don’t want to hear it!

I was on Bethel’s staff in the Children’s ministry during this time. I and the rest of the CM Staff got the email she talks about saying to not go to his house for his Bible studies. Nothing else was communicated other than what she said. I don’t have access to that email anymore, otherwise I would offer to forward it.
If we see any Revival, it needs to be a revival of the Fear of the Lord.
Perhaps if people stopped always seeking prophecy and seriously saught Jesus…then these types of ministries would come to naught.

his is heartbreaking. Once, I exposed a “fake prophet,” so the “leaders” used the same excuse to protect his false prophecies: “people are being encouraged,” “people are coming to the Lord,” etc. So I asked them: Does God need lies to convince people? What kind of God do you guys worship?
People have GOT to come out of the modern “church cult” and get back to gathering in smaller groups and helping one another and serving.

Thank you Mike and Jedidiah. My dad is a liar in this same movement and no one seems to care. I’m officially out of this Bethel prophetic movement and my eyes are wildly open. I’m definitely working through the shame associated. But it’s so refreshing to be out of there!

These women should have reported these rapes to the Police and filed charges. Don’t expect these mega church pastors to do anything. They all protect each other. This is the most heinous form of abuse. These are truly wolves in sheep’s clothing, NOT Shepherds Taking Care of the Sheep.

Bill Johnson keeps refusing to take responsibility for what is happening in his church. If you keep producing bad fruit, the issue is with the tree.
If a ministry mainly focuses on anything else than Jesus, either works, prophecy or especially the leader, it’s a red flag for me.

“Bethel Doesn’t Protect People!”
Bethel is doing major damage control! First, they’ve complained about “those people” on the internet, and now they want to apologize when they have no other choice, because of those same people.
It’s frustrating that we have to keep talking about them as if they are actual Christians leaders that should be held accountable for who they platform, when they themselves are the same as those they platform. Shawn Bolz has not done nearly as much damage with his false prophecies as Bill Johnson has with his organization over the many years he’s been conning people. But we have to keep speaking about them and warning about them because what they did today only further increased a lot of their followers love and admiration for them. A lot of them are young and/or unable to detect manipulation, even as blatant as theirs always is.
You and Chris Rosebrough deserve more credit for this than you are getting. I know that it is not important to you. But you still deserve the acknowledgment.
I’m going to watch the Bethel service, but unless there is genuine weeping and crying and rending of their garment with begging forgiveness of God and their congregation, I will not even start to trust them.
These false leaders have laughed at, used, bilked, abused, and maligned every single person who has tried to slow the flow of dollars into their pockets for decades. They have shipwrecked people’s faith, lives and fortunes without a wisp of conscience.
This doesn’t require mere Repentance, it requires Resignation from positions and permanent disqualification from ministry for most of them. It requires the dismantling of billion dollar media companies built on false teachings. I doubt any of this will happen. They have to keep the money flowing to maintain their lifestyles.
I say this as the wife of a humble Pastor who preaches True Gospel.

In my opinion, Kris and Bill are men of self-interest, not men of integrity. And their apologies did not even come close to addressing the real issue- that they put their own agendas and profits above their responsibilities of protecting the sheep. Unfortunately, I could see in the comments that their crocodile tears and “humble” body language and “I’m really sorry” phrases were having the desired effect on their audience and people were falling for it.
Vallotton is truly an Expert in Gaslighting.
The thing is, when you’re brainwashed, you have to make excuses for the leaders, it can’t possibly be their fault. That’s how you know you’re dealing with a cult and not a church. Many of their followers look to them as the “parents” they never had, while often cutting off or ignoring their actual parents. Until they themselves get throat punched by this movement, they’ll defend it and believe anything they’re fed. And many of those who get abused will stay anyway because they’ve been brainwashed to believe Bill is some kind of messiah.
I would not trust them as a spiritual guide.
Yet, while so many lives have been destroyed, the name of our Lord swindled and being mocked, trampled under foot, and many leaving the faith.
This whole woe-is-me pity party that Kris Valloton is throwing himself is classic DARVO behavior. Worldly sorrow is not the same as Godly repentance!
Exactly it was a forced apology and a last ditch effort to cling to their money and platform, if they truly repented, then we want to see fruit of repentance, restore financially, every single person that was harmed by Shawn and his false prophecies. walk away from preaching the false gospel, sell all that you have, give it to the poor & go follow Jesus.
I was like what… from last Sunday how Kris talked, to today, how fast that switch was flipped, can we believe them? From last week till today? I honestly believe it’s what we call “cool switching”, why not come out years ago? And what about the rest of the ones yall have platformed? I don’t know if i believe it’s sincere, or from a deceptive, manipulative damage control thing, but still praying may GOD shake all that can be shaken & bring it all to light.
I hope this all eventually leads to assessment and actual demolition of any faulty theology, philosophy, industry that gave audience and license to not just dysfunctional but nefarious “leaders” within the network. Although, based on the way these apologies finally surfaced, it appears that reputation management was seen as necessary action. If all other methods and tactics are exhausted and choices dwindle before any signs of contrition are seen, it looks less like repentance and more like opportunism. Saving grace always works better than saving face.
The apology was completely messed up. They acknowledged knowing about Shawn Bolz since 2019 and then claimed distancing themselves from him since that point and yet Bill Johnson goes on TBN sitting right next to Shawn in 2023 and fully endorses a book Shawn wrote saying it’s the best thing ever. Especially when you consider the character of the man behind it.
Hammer them and don’t let up. They deserve the “recompense for their error” just like anyone else. Even more so maybe since they have brought so much damage on the church and their own flock. They have literally ruined lives and damaged souls. The exact OPPOSITE or their purpose.
They still obfuscated heavily and didn’t address fully the issue. It sure sounded good at the end but I don’t believe them. They refused to call Shawn a false prophet, talk more about ‘restoring’ people like him, then warning the church to stay away which from past examples its does not mean repentance and sanctification. They are Culprits. They haven’t Repented from their Heresy, even with the “physics of heaven” they just tried to cover it up under a rug because of its bad publicity but did not reject it…
Continue to mark and avoid. They are only sorry the were caught and pestered to say something. Kris still thinks this speech last week was ‘good’ he didn’t repent of it despite this so called encounter with God that gave him a change of heart? sounded more like he’s still talking out of both sides of his mouth and on top of it using God’s name in vain to explain why he’s speech is week was more of an emotional tugging woe as me feel then the condensation of last week’s rant.
The damage they’ve inflicted on my family and nation is immeasurable. Humbling themselves, seeking the truth, cleaning up their mess and asking for forgiveness is the only option. Somehow, I can’t see it happening and multitudes will be in hell because of their pure evil.
